Stratford Fire Brigade training the community

New tables and chairs are a welcome addition to the Stratford Volunteer Fire Brigade

An upgrade to the furniture at the Stratford Volunteer Fire Brigade will make a big difference to the community, says Chris Linders, Senior Firefighter of the Brigade.

"The TET grant has assisted the brigade to create a modern and welcoming meeting and training room to be used by the Stratford Volunteer Fire Brigade and a number of outside organisations," Linders said. "The flip tables enable us to hold our first aid training in the same room as the tables flip up and can easily be moved away to create space."

There will also be wider community utilisation of the ammentities now as well. "The police are able to use them for training as well as school and community groups that come in for fire safety presentations. FMG will be using the meeting room when we deliver home and rural fire safety information to their people."

The project would not have been possible without the generous support of the TET which is greatly appreciated, Linders noted.
